Fermented beverages can lower blood sugar spikes

Kombucha is a better choice than soda water or diet lemonade

In a small human trial, researchers found that kombucha reduced the glycemic index (GI) and insulin index (II) when consumed with a high-GI meal, while sugar-free soda water and diet lemonade did not. Lowering blood glucose levels could reduce the risk of diseases such as insulin resistance and diabetes.

Kombucha may help control blood sugar in type 2 diabetes

12 participants were enlisted to maintain their typical diet but in a blind study, consume either Kombucha or a placebo that tasted like Kombucha. Those that drank Kombucha had lower blood sugar levels.
